Xiaomi’s Redmi Series is known as the smartphone series that is made specifically for the Mid-range Entry-level segment. But recently there was news that there would be a Redmi series targeting flagship.
A post on the Weibo site shows the Redmi Pro 2 series that uses the Snapdragon 855 top-grade Qualcomm chipset as its brain. In addition, this smartphone has also adopted the full view display design by placing the front camera in the Pop-up module.
In a separate leak, CEO Xiaomi, Lei Jun was seen holding a smartphone with a screen without a notch, a front camera pop-up module, and a fingerprint sensor embedded in the screen which had never been in the previous Redmi series.
A design like this might look like the Redmi Note 7 which was recently launched. But there are differences where the red color is more striking and the absence of a 3.5 audio jack hole. Then for the main camera there is one 48 MP resolution lens.
Not yet known for sure when this smartphone will be launched. If the official Redmi Pro 2 is released it will certainly be another Xiaomi flagship opponent, the Mi 9. Will the price be cheaper? Let’s wait.
